Black Saturday

I am appaled and disappointed that for the first time ever we had to cancell our First Team game.  Against Bonymaen AFC on Saturday 4th Nov only 7 players (without a keeper) turned up.  We have very litle excuse as we had no second team game to play, so we should have had plenty of cover (even with our normal first team squad depleted with injuries and work committments).  Had we known by 12 noon we could have done something, but to leave it until 2pm to report fit for a 2:30 kick-off is frankly rediculous.  It left the first team management very little time to phone around, even in this mobile age.  Perhaps we have to consider loosing our Third Team, unless we are all committed.  We can only apologise to Swansea Senior League and Bonymaen AFC.

Strength in Depth!

It is a testing time for us all this season.  With so many of last year's first team players leaving us, we have to draw players from our reserve teams.  As a club we have to do this, because we live or fall by our First Team.  It will show our strength in depth, and stop the first team going into free fall back to Division Two.  We have to believe in ourselves, play for each other, and be fully committed to the club.  I know we can, I believe we will stay in Division One, but we must all work at it.  Even if it means getting new players in the club.  So if you know of a good player looking for a challenge in Division One, let us know.

Chaiman.
